If some patients with chronic back pain find a chiropractor helpful why is this not widely funded on the NHS?

If some patients with chronic back pain find a chiropractor helpful why is this not widely funded on the NHS?

http://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/1098.aspx?CategoryID=68

In conjunction with this case some patients with chronic back pain find chiropractic treatment hlpeful, however the majority of patients have to fund this themselves and it is not widely avaliable on the NHS as its considered a complementary therapy?

The eivdence base for chiropractic treatment, osetopath etc is variable however they can treat a range of conditions

Should patients who have exhuasted options on the NHS get NHS funded chiropractic treatment if indicated?

Would be interested to get to know peoples thoughts on this topic.

Thanks
